Our Poetry
Events.

Puss' poetry organises multilingual poetry events that provide a stage for anyone who wants to share their writings.

In our events, we aim for a safe and open environment with a low threshold.

Everyone is welcome and everyone can participate on our open stage. Therefore, we do not work with any entrance fees or sign up forms; you simply show up and have a good time!

What can you expect? A diverse, curated line up including both established poets and first time performers. An open stage, open to everyone. Intermezzo's from the Puss' Poetry team. Live music and so much more.

Below you can find some practical information to frequently asked questions.

How can I participate in the open stage?

Everyone can participate in our open stage! However, since we do have a lot of people who want to read their work, we choose people randomly. We do this by picking names from a jar. Everyone is welcome to write their name on a piece of paper and drop it into the jar at the merchandise stand prior to the event starting or during the break.

It's not guaranteed that every name from the jar will be drawn, therefore we ask everyone on the open stage to keep it short. Each poem is limited to a half A4 sized page.

This way we can give more people a platform to present their work.

Do I have to sign up for Puss' Poetry?

No. In general, Puss' Poetry events do not require you to sign up and entry is free. You can just show up and enjoy yourself, the poetry and the atmosphere.

Specific events and workshops however, might require a sign up but if so, then this will be communicated clearly.

I want to read my work in the curated line up, how do I get in?

Poets for our line up are always invited by one of our team members. If you want us to have a look at your work it's easiest to just reach out to us during our events or send some of your work by email. Do keep in mind that looking at your work is not a promise that you'll be invited for the line up. We also encourage everyone to participate in our open stage to send in their work, as a way to continuously scout people for our line up.

UNSA (United Nations Student Association) also reached out to us for a collaboration. This resulted in an open mic for International Women's day 2026 at The Social Hub Maastricht.

Puss' Poetry X Mosaïk

Puss' Poetry x Mosaïk Magazine

In our collaboration with Mosaïk Magazine we showcase poems from our community by giving poets the chance to reach a broader audience.

Poets are invited by our team members to submit a poem which is published on the website of Mosaïk Magazine and on Instagram.
